Margaret Lally, Senior Director of Operations and Technical Services

As Senior Director of Operations and Technical Services, Margaret Lally has made her mark on Startel! Joining Startel 16 years ago, she has gained quite the experience under her belt. She first joined as a Senior Systems Engineer and Support Manager. At the time, Comverse had decided to relocate Infinity Telco business and Trilogue service and support to Startel in Irvine.

Prior to Startel, she worked for Comverse Technologies as a Technical Support Engineer. In that role, she assisted with the development of new markets. She was also a Field Engineer and traveled internationally performing installations and upgrades for large corporations (e.g. Sprint, BCP).

In 2005 she became Director of Startel Technical Support, Enhanced Services Products, and Information Technology. Currently she is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Operations and Technical Services.

Margaret enjoys camping, traveling and spending time with her husband.
She loves SNUG because she thinks it’s a great way for people to learn more about Startel and get additional training while at SNUG meetings.

Richard Pettitt, Manager of New Product Development

Richard Pettitt joined Startel five years ago. He is the project lead on the Startel Soft Switch. He has worked on numerous other projects such as the improved SMS Aggregator, Secure Messaging and Voice Services.

Currently, Richard is the Manager of New Product Development. He loves the interaction SNUG provides to Startel’s customers. He also enjoys presenting Startel’s new and exciting products!
Some little known facts: Richard is originally from South Africa, he speaks Afrikaans and his family still resides in South Africa, he’s an avid gamer and weekend golfer. His post college years were spent in London working for a Telecoms Company and at one point was a Game Tester as well. He’s had the opportunity to touch a live Lion and a baby Rhino-now how many of you can say that!?
